Randy Schmidt
Randy was born and raised in Lyndhurst, Ohio. He is a graduate of Charles F. Brush High School. He continued
his education at Bowling Green State University. After graduating with a BS in business administration, Randy came to
Bellefontaine in 1974. In 2007, Randy retired from Honda of America after 26 years of service. Randy is the
father of 4 sons- Chris (1996 BHS grad), Pat (1997 BHS grad), Lance (2003 BHS Grad) and Derrick (2009 BHS Grad). Randy
and his wife Terri live in Bellefontaine. He has actively participated in the baseball program for the past 15 years
and has served as an assistant coach the last 10 years. In addition, he has been an assistant volleyball coach
for the varsity Lady Chiefs for 15 years. When asked why he coaches, Randy stated that he enjoys working with the students
and lives by the philosophy of Woody Hayes- "You must always pay forward because you can never pay back".
He adds, "I was here many years ago and we must all remember 'D.T.I.F.G'".
